From October 9 to 12, 2026, the 16th Symposium on Testing and Evaluation of Inorganic Materials (TEIM 2026) was grandly held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. Centered on the theme "Testing Technology for a Shared Future," the symposium brought together universities, research institutes, scientific teams, and equipment manufacturers from across the country to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as material structure characterization, performance testing, and evaluation methodologies. Shandong ZONEDE Instruments Co., Ltd. (ZONEDE) participated in the event.

As a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the independent R&D and manufacturing of instruments for testing material mechanical properties under extreme conditions, ZONEDE showcased a range of core equipment designed for evaluating dynamic mechanical behavior and high-temperature performance. Exhibits included high-temperature Vickers/Rockwell hardness testing systems, Split-Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) systems (configured for both metal and rock), single- and two-stage light-gas guns (impact and penetration testers), and high-temperature friction and wear testing systems. Through equipment models and typical test data plots, the company provided attendees—including faculty, students, and engineering professionals—with a vivid demonstration of the products' practical applications. These include constitutive model development, characterization of dynamic mechanical properties, analysis of stress-strain relationships and failure mechanisms under impact loads, and testing of hardness and friction/wear at high temperatures.

During the exhibition, numerous experts and scholars from universities and research institutes visited the ZONEDE booth to engage in in-depth technical discussions with the company's staff regarding areas such as high-strain-rate dynamic impact testing, in-situ high-temperature hardness measurement, and friction and wear evaluation under extreme conditions. The attendees focused on key topics such as the adaptation of Split-Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) systems for metal and rock materials, the temperature range and atmospheric protection capabilities of high-temperature hardness testers, and the application of light-gas gun and shock tube systems in high-speed impact and aerodynamic experiments. Detailed discussions were held regarding specific requirements, including specimen dimensions, loading parameters, data acquisition, and non-standard customization.
